    What about using the blast intake with a super boot to connect the 2 together?

    And then use the mounting flange on the other intake track to sandwich a peace of aluminum to close off the hole?

    You would end up with an ungainly and long intake.

    If I remember right, the stock intake length on the XB is way to short for proper intake length tuning. I think the combined length is close to being tuned for around 5k rpms.

    It would also be all floppy and the boot would likely break.

    I don't understand why HD/Buell went with the flange design they did, as it's an easy point of failure for these engines, especially if you're always chopping the throttle at high rpms. That's why 12's seals fail so often, just sucks them hard enough to create a wrinkle and a leak.
