    Default new pirelli angel on

Got the new Pirelli Angel on the rear. Figured I'd start a post and track its life cycle. I'll update the post every 500-1000 miles depending on the tire

Here's a couple pics of the new tire on before it's been used.

not sure why the pics are sideways, when I view them on my phone or computer they're the correct orientation.

so far so good. Not that I expected any less from Pirelli.

I don't really notice any difference performance-wise from the diablo scooter ,but I'm on the Florida coast so I don't have lot's of twisties to really test on. Right now I'm just waiting for some rain when I'm free to see how the angels hold up with the wet compared to the diablos.

One thing I did notice though is the angel actually has a wear bar on them unlike the diablo scooter.

So I'm just shy of 1000 miles on the new tire and the angel still looks brand new. Rode in the rain a couple times and the angel feels good. it's hard for me to really compare it to the Diablo without being able to run them one after the other, but so far I'm really liking the angel and would say it's comparable to the Diablo for me. (those who ride hard and have lots of twisties may feel different)

update: just over 2000 miles on the angel. Had an issue with the sidewall developing a leak recently. Couldn't get it to stop, so I had to take the rear off and clean it up then reseat it. Seems to be fixed now, but not sure it will last as it shouldn't have developed a leak in the sidewall months after installation.

Other than that, the tire is holding up really well. compared to how the diablo's looked around similar miles, the angel's still look practically new. I guess the real test will be how well the tread holds up on the hot florida roads this summer.

well, looks like I need to look into new (at least to me) rims. the back tire keeps leaking from the sidewall unless I double the pressure ( I let it sit a few days overpressured in the heat in an attempt to help seal it - as soon as I reduce pressure, it starts leaking again). and I decided to replace the front tire and some corrosion pits are forming on the interior of the rim (wil post pic later).

I wanted another set of rims anyways so I could look into getting them powder coated, just have to get them sooner then I planned.

At least rims for these bikes are available on fleabay for a reasonable cost! I'm looking for a rear fender (the one that hugs the tire, they are nuts for price on ebay).
